Elevate: The Ultimate Lead Climbing Competition
At Parthian Climbing, we’re all about pushing limits, conquering fears, and reaching new heights. If you’re a passionate climber, Elevate is the competition you’ve been waiting for. This thrilling lead climbing event is designed to test your skills, determination, and stamina in the best way possible.
Elevate is happening simultaneously at our Southampton and Reading centres, ensuring that climbers from different regions can join in on the action. Just like our Winter Bouldering League (WBL), Elevate welcomes climbers of all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned lead climber or looking to transition into lead climbing, this competition is open to you.
How it works:
- Each round will run for 2 weeks (Except Round 4) from the published start date. You can compete at any time during this period.
- This is a ground-up competition meaning you are not allowed to ‘work’ the route. This means if you FALL, you must LOWER TO THE GROUND.
- Pre-clipping a route is allowed but must be done via non-comp route holds. (max 2 clips)
- There will be 8 Routes per round with Elevate Tags identifying the comp routes.
- A successful attempt is when the route is climbed in a clean manner and the lower-off has been clipped (no grabbing the top of the wall!).
- Please BRUSH the holds on your way down after each attempt
- For those who only top rope, you DO NOT need to climb the lead routes
- There are 4 rounds with the top 3 rounds being counted however YOU MUST attend round 4. If you qualify for finals but do not attend round 4 then you are NOT ALLOWED to compete in the final.

The Grand Finale(s)
Just like our WBL, Elevate will conclude with a spectacular final round. Climbers from Southampton will top their final routes of the comp and take their podium places on the 25th February, while Reading climbers will come together to celebrate their achievements and face off in a climactic showdown on March the 10th.
